Mr. To's day off.

What a beautiful morning!

Due to health concerns, one of our captains had to cancel, along with one of the boats. As for the other boat, Mr. To’s guests could not come, after all, so we set off into the sunrise.

The anchor plunged into the mud, finally biting in after a few minutes of fooling around… We chopped up our bait, plopped our hooks towards Lady Liberty’s toes, and pulled fishing magazines, looking for loopholes that would allow us more than one hook each…

Within 20 minutes, Mr. To’s rod bent all the way, indicating a hungry fish had followed our chum trail to its demise… After a long fight on a brand new rod and reel, Captain was eager to try his new, fish-safe, rubber net. Brought aboard, de-hooked, and measured, the fish turned out to be only a half-inch longer than the current leader! Mr. To quickly returned the fish into the river, quoting Father Moon “In order to show God gratitude, we should offer our first fish, no matter what!”. A long-standing tradition in Ocean Church.

We mucked around the harbor looking for more fish, no luck. We headed back early and coordinated hauling out our extra boat. Thanks, Mr. To! See you again Thursday!

The Champion Strikes Again!

There's no better way than to get out and experience nature for yourself.

Today four youth went out with Capt. Branch to target Stripers. Thier first destination was Lady Liberty, in about 25ft of water, using chunk Bunker.

Within 15 minutes Deanna Aull hooked up on a 31” 12.01lb Beauty! After a short fight, almost catching the anchor line, they netted the fish and shouted with joy. The first Striper has been caught!

With 8 more days left, let’s see if she can hold the top spot!
